Visiting Research

I am a visiting PhD researcher from Ireland. I obtained my BSc and ME in Computer and Electronic Engineering at University College Dublin in Ireland and subsequently started my PhD there in 2021.  The focal point of my research is developing artificial intelligence (AI) tools to accurately segment and detect landmarks on radiographs. The overarching goal and benefit of these tools is the enhanced efficiency and accuracy they can bring to the diagnoses of different conditions from the radiographs. Previously, I focused on creating AI models to isolate certain parts of the paediatric pelvis to aid in the development of a more objective and reliable diagnostic metric for developmental dysplasia of the hip. I am now collaborating with the team here at Erasmus MC on automating the detection of vertebral fractures using spinal radiographs from the Rotterdam Study.
