I have been working as an internist-endocrinologist in the Department of Internal Medicine at Erasmus MC since August 2022. My academic background combines Computer Science, Clinical Epidemiology and Medicine. In February 2022, I successfully defended my PhD thesis, Differentiated Thyroid Cancer: Optimization of Patient Well-being, Treatment and Prognosis. I was also one of the winners of the Presidential Poster Competition at ENDO 2019 in New Orleans.

I currently lead the Erasmus MC Bone Center, where we care for patients with complex osteoporosis, rare bone diseases such as hypophosphatasia and osteopetrosis, and calcium and phosphate disorders including hypoparathyroidism and X-linked hypophosphatemia.

My research focuses on rare bone diseases, calcium and phosphate disorders, and innovative bone-imaging techniques such as photon-counting CT. I also serve as Secretary of NVE BoNe and the Burosumab Indication Committee.
