Dynamometer

A dynamometer measures grip strength by quantifying the force exerted by the hand and forearm muscles during a maximal voluntary contraction. The patient grips the dynamometer handle with their dominant hand and squeezes it as hard as possible. The device contains a strain gauge or load cell that measures the applied force. Grip strength measurements are typically recorded in pounds or kilograms. These measurements provide valuable information about hand function, muscle strength, and overall physical health. Dynamometers are commonly used in clinical settings for assessing hand function, monitoring changes in muscle strength over time, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions such as rehabilitation programs.
